PRSA’s & PRSA AVCs

Additional Voluntary Contributions

PRSA’s

PRSA’s are a specific type of personal pension plan introduced in 2002 by the Irish government to encourage saving. PRSAs offer more flexibility than other types of pension as they can be taken out by any individual regardless of employment status. Other flexible features of this type of pension include portability i.e. the ability to take your PRSA with you from job to job and the facility to switch from one PRSA to another without any charge. At Complete Financial our team of investment experts are dedicated to helping you choose the most suitable PRSA for your individual needs. As independent pension advisers we deal with a number of PRSA providers in Ireland. This allows us to recommend the best performing investment fund managers in the country. If you desire even more choice and control over your individual investments, Complete Financial can arrange a self-directed option that allows you to buy and sell your own securities via your own individual account with a stockbroker.

What is an AVC

Additional Voluntary Contributions (AVCs) are extra contributions made by individuals who have existing pension plans but who wish to save more in order to increase their projected pension benefits. At Complete Financial our team of investment experts are dedicated to helping you choose the best AVC plan to suit your individual needs. This allows Complete Financial to review competing investment manager performance and recommend only the best performing funds to our clients.

Who should set up an AVC

  • You wish to increase the value of your existing pension fund.

  • You wish to increase your options at retirement, including augmenting your tax free lump sum and providing access to an ARF.

  • You wish to maximise the income tax and PRSI relief available on your contributions (subject to your overall age related % limit).
